Skating Day!
This Friday, after homeschool group, we have skating from 1:00 to 3:00. We hope to see you there!
Public Service
Each year, the local public school system asks that we make it known to our homeschooling families that assistance is available to us just as it is to public school students. If you are concerned that your student might have any learning disabilities or other needs requiring therapies or assistance, please speak with Laura Smith or contact the school office.
*side-note-
My son Joel received speech therapy through the local school. It is free of charge and they were very accommodating with my schedule. Everyone involved, bent over backward to make it was pleasant as possible for us and I was very impressed.
Piano lessons
If anyone is interested in piano lessons, Rebecca Peterson has day time openings for students ranging from Kindergarten to Adult. Lessons are $60.00 per month for half hour, weekly lessons. If interested, contact Rebecca at 962-5391.

Bowling!
Join us Friday, October 16th, after our homeschool group meeting for an afternoon of bowling at Cabool Bowl. Price for bowling and shoes combined is $4.00 per bowler.
Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
We'll be visiting Spring Hill Farms on Thursday, October 22, and 10:00. Bring along a sack lunch and spend the day with us! We had so much fun here last year and the owners are homeschoolijavascript:void(0)ng families from our own homeschool group.

KY3 Tour
Join us in Springfield on Friday, September 25th, at 10:00 a.m. at the KY3 Studio for a field trip to learn how the news is made and a peek at the KY3 Weather Lab.

Homeschool Information Meeting
If you're considering homeschooling, are a grandparent wanting to better understand what your homeschooling grandkids are up to, or are just plain curious....we invite you to join us for a homeschool informational meeting at the Mtn. Grove Library on September 19th at 10:00 a.m.
If you are a homeschooling veteran, we eagerly invite you to join us as well to help encourage new homeschooling families. If you would like to bring some of your favorite curriculum to show to others, please label your name on them and we'll keep them at a display table during the meeting. If you have any favorite homeschooling websites, please email them to Tabby or Jennifer at chrisjenn@ilovejesus.net

Our schedule for the 2009/2010 school year is as follows:
Every 1st and 3rd Friday, we meet in the gym of the First Baptist Church of Mtn. Grove. The church is on the corner of 17th and Hovis, across from the MG Middle School.
Students are divided into two groups. The older group is for children ages 11 and older. The younger group is for children ages 10 and younger.
9:00 All families meet in the gym for a half-hour lesson
9:30 Older students meet in the commons for Learning Centers while Younger students have gym.
10:30 Older students have gym while the Younger students meet for Learning Centers.
Following the meeting, families are welcome to linger and enjoy a packed lunch. We ask only that everyone be respectful of the facilities. First Baptist Church has been very gracious to share their facilities with us at no cost to our group. They do not have a custodian working weekends, so the condition we leave it in on Friday afternoon, is the condition the church will find it in on Sunday morning. Let's show our appreciation by picking up after ourselves and leaving it in the same or better condition than we found it.

Welcome!
We are a relaxed homeschool group that enjoys the thrill of learning and discovery, but most of all, we enjoy the company of good friends. We don't have a list of rules to sign. We don't have a complicated schedule. We ask that everyone that joins us be thoughtful of others, kids and parents alike. How's that for a rule?

Skating Day!
We will be skating Friday, May 15th from noon to 2 p.m. in Mountain Grove. The cost will be $4.00 per skater. This will be our last get-together for this school year. Please let all your fellow homeschooling friends know

Skating!
The Mountain Grove Homeschool Group will be going skating Friday, February 13th from noon - 2 p.m. in Mtn. Grove. The cost will be $4.00 per skater. No outside food or drinks are allowed inside the skating rink. Please invite any other homeschoolers you know that might be interested.
We are required to have a minimum of 45 skaters so we ask that you R.S.V.P. by Thursday at 9 a.m. with the number of skaters that you will be bringing. Please just email Tabby at jimntab@centurytel.net or call 417-948-0401.
This is one hour earlier than we have met to skate before. Homeschool Group will still meet from 9:30 to 11:30, but Jumproping will be rescheduled for another day to allow a half hour for everyone to eat lunch before skating.
